Aakarshan is like a college pre-party party. The big one is Horizon. Horizon is one huge fest but to me it's always been about the two rock competitions - Amrock (Amateur Rock) and Unchained (Big bands). Sadly after the second year Amrock died out. But unchained remains. And it's closing in.
This thread is about me singing for..
the last Aakarshan. After a f***all crowd response to our performance at Fresher's Eve last sem, we decided we're gonna kick so much ass it would hurt the next day. Sick of all the kiddy bands and stuff we belted out some kickass songs.
We started out with Black Sabbath's 'Paranoid'. Now I've been singing this song since I entered the college since my Freshers eve and whenever I tell anyone I'm singing this fest, they ask 'Paranoid?' . More often than not, they're right
Seeing me on stage everyone started shouting 'Paranoid'! So inspite keeping it as the third song we opened with it.
Next came Megadeth's 'A Tout Le Monde', which was very well received by the crowd too. Yeah, we kicked ass..
And I didn't know the lyrics to Metallica's 'Turn The Page', but the band wanted to perform it anyway. So we did, and it was the best received by the crowd.
Kick ass show. Some bachchu band played next :D then I came onstage again with a BIG BAD death/thrash metal band and we sang Obituary - By the Light.
Aftrer the lyrics got over I handed the nike to the guy behind stage and jumped into the crowd starting a massive moshpit. Which is a rare thing, of late.
Kickass show. Hadn't moshed in a while. |
