The 4th installment in the Die Hard Franchise is everything that it should be. Of course, you have to truly understand what the Die Hard franchise stands for to truly appreciate the movie. Well,  it's a guy thing.

I saw the first Die Hard when I was about 11 years old and I ran around the house with a toy pistol ridding the place of all them terrorists. I couldn't jump off the roof like McClaine, but this review is not about me. Point being, I am biased.

 And this one I saw in the screening theater at the Fox Studio lot. One of the best places to enjoy a movie... factory fresh

In this episode of the series, terrorists have taken control of America through a perfectly planned coordinated attack on every major government network in the country. And McClaine is caught in the middle of it through his knack for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The rest goes down in typical Die hard fashion. The movie grabs your attention right from the start and does not let go till the credits roll.  Cars flying into helicopters, high speed chases, F-35 raptors, SUVs hurtling down elevator shafts, megaton explosions and heavy weaponry. Everything that makes for a great action movie is thrown into it and then some.

McClain has aged since 'Die hard with a Vengeance' that was 12 years ago. But the movie definitely makes that transition for him graceful. He's still the wise-cracking-not-giving-a-sh!t badass that he has always been. Albeit, annoyed with all this new technology and the fact that his captain can always follow him with a new-fangled lo-jack.

I have been waiting for this movie for 12 years, and it did not dissappoint. This is what an action movie means to me. Okay, so a lot of the sequences are pretty over the edge and you have to suspend your disbelief a number of times. But then, this is what you watch an action movie for.

I would give it 10 stars out of 5.
